I have a fundamental question here. What exactly has to happen to actually say that the CIR has died? Will the house have to vote and kill it? I guess there are no legal time lines for a bill to lapse - or is there one? Does the bill automatically die when the present congress' term ends?

Why are you attached to India when you hate it? You want to get Green Card in USA and live here permanently. So should you not learn more about this country and culture. You cannot live in USA but think about India all the time and hate it too.

It looks like USCIS has indeed pre-adjudicated a lot of cases - if processing times at the various Service Centers are any indication, then the USCIS is almost done.
From now on, USCIS will be able to make a more accurate and realistic demand for visa numbers to the DOS. This means the dates will move forward gradually - with a measured jump in the last month of the last quarter.
For FY10, the jump in the last quarter will depend on:
1. State of the US Economy - If it continues to be L shaped, then less demand from EB2ROW and EB2I dates my advance up to mid 2006.
2. China EB2 - The faster it moves, the further EB2I will advance. It was suprising to find that EB2 China is back in 2005. Either the DOS has been really conservative or USCIS has truly done some house cleaning.

Did you read the post I wrote above? I think IV need some member who can do foot work. I think IV will agree with my assessment. What is others assessment? If we want to get something done we have to make some strategic and concentrated move.

I am the same boat, got the approval email and a week later received the approval notice in the mail. Did not get welcome or CPO email. My approval notice says I MAY have to do biometrics again to get my PR card
and they will notify me about appearing for biometrics if required.
Dose your approval notice have a similar message?

Yes my notice did say that Biometriics may be required buut it also said "do not take any action now" and IF required I will get a Biometrics notice.
I spoke to the CSr and she said if you do not get the cards in 30 days call back and she added that you will not get a welcome notice since you already have the approval nootice.
Well I am hounding my mailbox both physical and electronic since then but nothing so far...:confused:

They will provide us the detail in October. Till then it does not matter that they wasted all our money, time and effort. Ofcouse the emotional turmoil is least of their consideration.

I have a couple of questions regarding my AC21 portability, please post your thoughts on this
1) My 140 is approved and 485 is pending more than 180 days and I am planning to change my job. If my old employer does not cancel the approved 140, do I need to inform USCIS about the change of job??
2) Can I change multiple jobs??
3) Has anyone done that??
Please comment on this.

Firstly let me say that the Dems taking the house is the only hope I see for change near term. If the Republicans take it then they will feel vindicated on their stand and stick to it especially in view of the current unpopularity of Pres. Bush.
Democrats normally sing the tune of organised labour on such issues. Organised labour is clear that they want the immigrants that come not to be exploited. In otherwords, if you let them come then treat them well as they are now part of the labour pool. This idea has some intrinsic merit. If you analyse things, it is usually during the long drawn out protracted green card process that unscrupulous employers take the most advantage.

I filed 485/EAD/AP on May 31st and TSC received on June 1st. My checks haven't been cleared yet. TSC is said to be the slowest one. In a chinese forum, several people whose PD became current on June 1st got 485 approved recently. Their cases were all transferred to NSC recently.
BTW, how long will it take to get EAD? I sort of remember that it takes at most 3 months.
As far as i heard TSC is the fastest man. NSC is the snail...

<Rant>There is not mistake, i always feel that there is some @#$hole at the USCIS or state dept whose only goal in life is to get a sadistic kick by toying with the dates. How can these @#$@#@'s not realize that there is a person behind each visa number </Rant>
Like my title says - Could it be a mistake on their part for EB3 I ? Was it meant to be 15th April 2002 ?
In March of This year it was 15th Oct 2001. Then it goes to U for untli Oct and now its 15th April 2001 (gone back 6 months !!!!) This seems odd for a new fiscal year with new Visa Quota however small EB3I may be - are there still that many 2000-2001 applications pre-adjudicated in the system waiting for a visa that they had to roll it back ?

Legally we are not immigrants, that is the worst mistake( calling ourselves immigrants) ,being done by us,
If USCIS denies GC for security reasons, you cant sue them.
voting is a privilege. minors, felons etc are not allowed to vote.
consitutional protections means basic protection to humans like due process, right to own property and so on.
some rights are overriden by immigration laws, like the freedom to choose employer.
