Hallo I am new to IV. B'cause I live in DC I will go and visit as many congres and senate or I will certainly visit their office workers. How do U want me to prepare to talk to these ppl? Waht papers do U want me to take along?

I am not sure what SOL stands for.
But I can assure you that EB-3 ROW has very little hope. My estimate was that EB3-ROW's wait times were around 5-6 years.
But now, I have a feeling, that its going to be more like 10+ years. And 10+ years is a long time. Some sort of reform will happen in the next five or six years, and even that reform is not likely to get us greencards, since it may emphasize the family-based applicants.
Alisa, Your PD is March'07, and you could file in July'07. That was great for you. It is a bigger problem for those waiting to file. Others are theoritically in the admin process, though it would take a long time to complete. Technically visa was available for everyone in July'07,that's why all could file as it is a legal requirement for I-485 filing. Now they are just waiting to have the admin process completed.

You are still thinking about all the job crap and call. Are you some kind of a retard? Holy shit. What more meets the eye man? He might not be around after sometime. Instead of this bullshit, his priority must be to get better and spend time with family and friends. We dont know how things will be after 6 months. What I find retarded is that this crap green card seems to be taking higher position than him getting better.
To the original poster: Please realize that there is nothing more beautiful than life. Every minute of it is of the essence. Family and loved ones are more important than anything in life. You will not take money, green card or anything after you die. Your wife will be more happy realizing that she spent some fantastic time with you. I wish and pray that you get better. Just junk this immigration shit, go back home, take a second opinion and get better. There is life beyond America and remember that "Jaan hai to jahan hai" (If there is life then you have the world with you). Translation may not be perfect

There were so many rejected L1 Individual petitions filed by TCS/Infy/Wipro etc.. These big companies will include all the internal tools in the resumes and INS asked for the purchase orders for all the specialised tools.
As there were no PO's for those tools, petitions were rejected in large numbers. This has started in the last year and continuing... i personally have lot of friends whose petitions were rejected and went back to India..
I also know a few people from these companies. Remember when the senators/congressmen sent the letters asking for explanation of how they are using h-1/l-1. Companies responded with the biggest bull---- answers.
Now they are seeing what happens when you don't take serious when government representatives ask you things. Unfortunately; they are being picked on but everyone else is becoming collateral damage.

Guys,
It's almost 3 weeks today since I've opened SRs for my self and my spouse for not receiving FP notice and we haven't got any notice yet.
I want to know if some one who opened a SR for FP and did not receive any FP notice after the wait period expired, what did you do? Is taking an infopass the next step for missing FP notices or just wait and watch?

I agree with you. No questions about it. I think there are two components on legal immigration alone:
1. People who are stuck in the queue for many years
2. Increase in visa numbers for future skilled workers
At minimum, number 1) above should be fixed out of fairness. We already went through the painful labor certification process. That's unrelated to market demand or not.
I agree, we haven't had a chance to put that clear message out there.
This myth has never been successfully countered in the media or any other PR or lobbying channel by the legal immigration crowd.
The standard line amounts to this:
We are highly skilled we are legal and we are stuck and dont deserve this.
This is not good PR. Nobody cares about this.. it will get us nowhere..
We need to have a standard message apart from all other humint crap..

A note to my fellow IV members - I am not after the $42/Hr job. Good luck in finding a US citizen to do this job. I was wrong about EEO, it is actually IRCA which prohibits discrimination in recruitment and hiring.

We have to correct the misinformation spread by anti-immigrant groups that most jobs are "reserved for H1Bs", while the reality is different. Most jobs are "reserved" for American workers (although such reservation is illegal under IRCA). We have to provide the proof that the myth of "thousands of jobs reserved for foreign workers" in nothing but a myth. My posting is a small step in that direction.
Here is another one in the continuing series of exposing the highly prevalent illegal hiring practice. I request everyone to start posting similar job-ads you get from recruiters. Once we get a hundred or more ads here, we can start E-mailing the links to the media.

I think we should have a poll for DC rally and it should be on IV home page so that every visitor know about it and poll.
There are a lot of people in DC like me. The permissions depend on which part of DC we want to rally.
Do we want to rally around the capitol meet congressmen and senators in the immigration sub committee?
Do we want to go to offices of USCIS and DOS and request to consider the first VB?
As some one has said, there has to be a poll on the home page and if we have to tip off media ahead.

would they still issue an EAD and AP even if your dates are not current(obviously the case was received by them and they issued you a case number)

USCIS only looks at your PD while they issue case number (when you file for 485) and next when they approve your case (they issue your GC)

For those of you joining us late, here is some info about this thread.
1. This is to do our least part to the core IV Team for their selfless sacrifice, for all of us getting the benefits of legal immigration. Note that , Aman Kapoor , the co-founder of IV has done his part by sacrificing $64,000/- from his own personal funds towards the administrative costs of IV. Yes you read it right , it is $64,000/- We come to know from his co-worker that he has sold his house towards running this show for us.
2. We have not yet figured out a way to reimburse these costs as IV does not yet have administrative costs part of the expenditure allocation, as we understand it. So instead of a wait and watch, we decided to go ahead with collecting the pledge from the members on the amount they are putting forth for reimbursing the amount. Once we come up with a strategy(members we look for your suggestions on how to get this done, please add your comments) we will instruct the members pledged to pay out.
So do not pay it directly to the IV core funds, yet.
Please help us spread the message about this thread in other threads by copy and pasting the following in other threads too.

If the options are sign or do not sign and no EAD/GC for a long long time or never, I would just sign the damn thing. This contract is way too restrictive and lawyers will find lot of loopholes. Let him go to court. If he dares to, what do you lose? $10,000? He has to spend more than that, face publicity, lose reputation among clients ( send the freaking agreement to all his clients and advertise in all awebsites) and intense scrutiny by Homeland Security and possible arrest. Just somehow document all your conversations which implicate him and be prepared.
