I sent in my I-140,I-485,EAD & AP applications to Nebraska Service Center which was the nodal agency to receive all I-140 applications during July -August 2007. They then would transfer some of the cases to TSC for processing. Due the visa bulletin fiasco, my applications were transferred to VSC for data entry and all my receipts have an EAC number. I received my EAD & AP and also a transfer notice informing that my I-485 was transferred to TSC as my job is in a state that comes under TSC's jurisdiction. But I did not hear anything about my I-140 being transferred to TSC. So we called up USCIS to check on it. We were informed that VSC would process my I-140 application and it was not necessary for it to be transferred to TSC unlike I-485.
My concern is VSC is taking for ever to process I-140's and currently are processing Apr 06 applications. I believe the dates have remained like that for a while now. Atleast TSC says clearly that they will process I-140 in 6 months, but VSC has no such processing times mentioned. Due to no fault of mine, my application ended up in VSC and is stuck there until some kind folks pick them for reviewing..which may take more than a year going by the current processing times. Is there anything I could do to have it transferred to TSC? Are there other members in the same situation? There is no likelihood of PPS starting anytime soon....what are my options to fix this problem? I thought under the new bi-specialization procedures only NSC & TSC processed I-140 applications...

US Citizenship is valuable. Never ever think of cancelling it any time. There are plenty of jobs available in USA for skilled programmers. Only thing is patience and perseverence in your job hunt.I do not want to comment your removal of job as there might be multiple reasons not necessarily skill. There are some jobs which require US Citizenship those will have less compettion. Also you need train yourself for the skills which are hot in the market. Job hunting is always challenging even if you have excellent skills and market is good.

So I am ready to give up searching and move to India,in search of programming work. All I want to do is write code. What are my chances to find work with the giant IT corporations of India? I am ready to move today. Can I revoke my US citizenship and immigrate to your country??? I had my PA DL renewed last year. All they asked was the original I-485 receipt, Passport. They dont consider EADs.

Initially I also thought that this bill would remove 40, 000 numbers from the numerical queue. But in reality that may not be the case. 40, 000 is the EB1 quota. How many of those are PhDs? Anecdotal evidence is that majority of EB1 now goes to International managers. So number wise this bill may not do much.
But I wholeheartedly support this bill. Even if this removes 5, 000 people from the queue. It is better than nothing. 5, 000 is two years worth of EB3-I quota :) :)

2> I stayed at Hotel Real Del Rio which is less than a minute walk from the consulate. It's right behind the consulate infact. Very nice hotel; courteous staff. Recommended you do booking through expedia ($70), although expedia will not charge your credit card but you can carry the printout which will get you that rate. If you book directly with the hotel, the rate's much higher (close to $100)
3> YEs, I got the tourist visa for mexico. Although nobody checked it anywhere, but I believe entering any country without valid visa/paperwork is illegal. Getting a mexican visa was very easy. You just go to the consulate/embassy, tell them you want to go to the US consulate in Tijuana for H-1b stamping. They issue you within the hour stamped. Cost about $36. Just get your H-1b petition with you for proof, and the appointment confirmation.
4> The validity of H-1b depends on the validity of the petition I-797. Whatever period you have that for, will be stamped.
5> He just asked me for job letter, asked me if I've applied for GC (I have), asked me that don't I have to work with them for a certain time (to which I replied I did and after I was eligible I changed employers using AC-21). He just read the job duties in my H-1B petition (most likely to check for any TAL related stuff). It appears he put that in the comments screen on his PC. And then he said he's approving it.
It was basically a bar-like casual conversation I had with him. Within a few seconds of my start of the interview with IO, I knew he'll approve my visa. so it was pretty cool all along the way.
Can you please let me know which website to book H1B visa interview appointment in Mexico and Canada?
And please guide me on things to keep in mind while going for stamping.

Our Current EAD is expiring on 10/01/2008. So we had applied for extension in june. On july 7th our application was approved and today we recieved our EAD cards. I was expecting a one year extension , which is until 10/01/2009. But USCIS send us ead cards that will expire on 01/01/2009.
What should be the course of action here. Do i need to reapply or just contact USCIS and will they be able to fix it? Any body on similiar situation.?

<Blush> Thanks, Kevin. Skagitswimmer, I often can't use Kevin's technique of getting close, since I am shooting animals most of the time, and they run/fly/swim away. I do something similar though.
If you use the center spot metering mode (the single dot on Canon products), and then pick a subject that is close to you and has a similar albedo (reflectivity/color) as your intended target, you can get a sanity check on exposure. Then take the meter of the real subject, making sure you're not too far off. Then shoot. Then bracket it, a stop up, shoot, and a stop down, shoot. If you're shooting RAW, this will give you enough coverage, and you WILL get the shot since you can adjust exposure again in PS or DPP or whatever you use.
You can get about six stops of range in three frames for a few clicks of a wheel, and that ain't bad. If you're using aperture priority (as I usually am to control DoF) or shutter priority, it's a quick couple of clicks to make the adjustments, and worth the effort. If you're shooting manual, it's a little more effort to decide what to change, but still do-able with stationary subjects. Let us know if these suggestions work for you, or if you come up with a different technique that works better for you. :)

May be we should gather momentum, and ask ImmigrationVoice to start working to address the issue of past backlogs as well as future backlogs too. Moderators, please make a note of this thread and direct us on path forward. May be another flower revolution; or may be we should send pens saying "Change the immigration law and make US a beacon of freedom". My case was very similar in last November, I did call them many times...but same old answer. but in last month they told me they did not work on my case because my fiinger prints were expired. they expire every 15 months, and without valid FP , case even will not pass standard "filter" criteria, and they don't consider it "ready to approve"
Looks like you sent your 485 on Jul 2007, assume your first FP was done before Aug 2007? if yes, it's expired. By any chance, did you do your 2nd FP?

opening new threads like this is annoying, I see lots of useless thread around here which discourages me to come to IV that often. He is asking update from CORE like they owe him, he must have paid his attorney and should attorney in such way not here. Whenever core has something to share they do share, no doubts.
If you do not feel like coming to IV forum, that is your problem.
If anything only the IV Admins can speak of what the members can ask or cannot ask.
I think it is clear that this platform is not a paid subscription, so if the IV Admins do not ask for money who are you to speak of money here?
I did not demand anything, it was a request which the Admins and lot other members would understand except for some jacka** like u.

I have not done AC21 yet. My join date is September 2nd. I am kind of planning to not file AC21.
Is your current employer supportive with respect to revoking 140 ? It looks like, you are doing H1 not using EAD ?
