Now you are going to protest porting..do u have a slightest idea of how it is to wait for 10 years in the GC queue. This is not because people were not eligible for EB2 at that time, but rather due to the lawyer and employer mess ups. And there is no wrong in someone going to the front of the queue if they were able to prove that they are eb2 worthy..

Employers and their law firms many a times screw up deliberately.....
If they apply for Eb3 then that guy gets stuck with that consulting firm for like 10 more years ! Which employer doesn't want that !!! Many of my friends have got stuck in EB3 lines due to employer/lawyer deliberate-goofups !! If they leave the company, they risk the money they gave for previous GC processes + the client.... becoz of contract terms... etc...
If EB3 candidates are eligible for EB2 porting, they MUST go for it...
If that is going to delay EB2, then so be it.... Its the right thing to do...

Thanks for the update. Let me share my concern with the CIR. Do you think that someone (lawmakers) is going to officially vote for the CIR to die? I don't believe so. Discussions, debates, political bickering and fingerpointing can drag on for months and even years because no one is officially willing to kill it for obvious political reasons. How long do you think we (IV) can wait until we start pushing for other bills?

CIR will likely not be VOTED dead. There just will not be anything done about naming a Conference committee. If a committee is indeed named, but they don't produce a report in 2-3 weeks, then CIR would be deemed dead.
The bottom line is, if nothing happens by the end of July, CIR will likely be dead.
We will be looking at other options much before the end of July. The problem for us is that no other legislation will be considered before the end of July.

This is not correct from legal point of view. I would put this statement as
-- Must have valid work authorization. Sponsorship for any work visa is not offered.
Employer can not ask for kind of authorization. It could be, EAD, OPT, GC etc. As long as applicant is qualified as per I-9 form, kind of authorization should not matter.
Of course, H-1B applicant can not apply for this job position since visa sponsorship is not available.

7% quota based on national origin is based on law but it is clearly a biased and outdated law. It is beyond my comprehension why should we scared of initiating a litigation against the US government when it is clearly involved in blatant discrimination. The HSMP rules were challenged successfully by Indian high skilled workers in UK, why can't we do the same over here? I pledge to donate USD 200 for a lawsuit if such an action is initiated.

Did you change your mailing address after you submitted your I-485?
Some time they correspond to your old mailing address even though you updated the address with USCIS.
Did you check with your Attorney? Is the correspondence address given is your mailing address or Lawyers? Some times Lawyers give their address for correspondence to USCIS.
These factors count where the approved mail goes to. I am sure you might have checked these before. If you over-looked these, then these may be the areas that you have to check on.
My 2 cents.

It will be the right thing to do as people will always have a reason for not contributing. I doubt we can ever swing the thick skinned folks to contribute.
I understand that one reason for having the free site is for us to have numbers. But, how do these numbers help when most of them are not good for much.
I think it is about time for IV to think and make $25/month minimum fee for accessing this site. IV needs money to lobby to sort GC mess out. At the same time we need serious people ready to volunteer and donate. That is the only way out. We do not need people discussing SRK and Vonage on this site. We might reduce website hits by doing this but at least we will have ust have serious members who actually want to volunteer and work for IV.

On Aug 17th the message changed to "On Aug 16th Card Production Ordered...."
when should I expect the card in mail?
Did you receive the welcome notices? The 797 approval notices is what I mean.
Once you get that, from there within a weeks times you should get your physical cards.
From the CPO mail at the most 2 weeks. That is the trend.
