We have explained you during the phone conversation that it is not the right time to pick up country limits issue. We have run this by our strategist again and they have also advised us that its not the right time for this issue. The money is not for me or for the Immigration Voice but for the lobbying to make the uscis or the government understand how the employment based GC system is outdated, and how the people who came to usa with an American Dream are being played by the rules not for days or weeks or months but for years and years. And procrastinating their American Dream because of the limitations they have during the GC process.
Active participation or contribution of 10 or 20 or 100 people wont be any effective unless and untill we all do it collectively.

when you are able to view the back side of the checks, could you please let us know if they have SRC or LIN for the receipt numbers? That would help lots of users here answer their question about what service center is processing transfer cases...

It is true that country quota is a discrimination. But when you just try to remove the country quota other country persons are going to oppose as they will be impacted if country quota is removed. But if you try with other agenda like recapture then opposition may not be strong and also every one will get benefit.

Guys, any update on your FP notices? I have written to ombudsman almost 3 weeks ago about not receiving FP notices and nothing yet...
What are you guys thinking as next step?
No update from my side. I had called last week and week before that. Apparently I got the same IO the last two times and first time she told me no FP scheduled , security check cleared. Second time she said no FP scheduled and I asked about security check and she said its still pending. Imagine same IO giving inconsistent information regarding my security check. I am not even sure to believe anything they say anymore. I am not even sure if they really look it up or not.

Try to call the service center directly, e.g. call at a time when the service center is open. The 1-800 number will transfer you automatically and you should hear something like "welcome to NSC/TSC, etc...". If the service center is closed and they transfer you to the national customer service something you can hang up because they're useless. All they know is to open SRs which get routed to the thrash bin.
I did exactly as in the post above, except for the part where I tell them I'm "depressed" (they probably figured I was anyway :)) and I got my FP notice three days later. If you don't get an LUD call again the next day, and the next day,..... eventually you'll run into someone who can help.

Sorry if this is not about GC or any US immigration processes...i just would like to know if anybody can help me or provide me the procedures to obtain Canadian PR. I already had an assessment done (me and my husband under H1 here in US as Accountants ) and we have I-140 and 485 pending. We are thinking of trying Canada.

Not really..before PERM LC tooks 4-5 years and a lot of people got laid off at the end of 4th 5th year and lost everything...Years of exp is best. based on Intial LC is good too....Ultimately anyone with a masters + 2-3 yrs exp or bachelors with 4-5 yrs exp should not have to wait in queue. Their priority dates should be current...I still support the whole Company GC and not just a points based system

From your knowledge of words it sounds to me that you should get a "PhD" in language or politics or something like that and apply for EB1...Why are you doing EB3???
If we were to buy this weak attempt at making a 'logical point', I would be glad to give Ron a call and have his folks look into YOUR respective EB2 applications and find out if there REALLY was "NO" qualified US worker available for that job. Want to play that game?

Congressmen are well aware of the plight of legal immigrants way before than immigrationvoice.org dreamed of existence. We fought hard in order to educate congressmen and often their staff played dumb, but again the truth is that they never cared about our plight.
The reality is that this, as usual, is primarily driven by business needs. Major employers such as Bill Gates lobby mainly for H1B numbers increase. Employers are very much aware that H1B staff under pressure can put up and deliver the very long journey of 60-80h/week expected at Microsoft. Yes, Microsoft and many other major employers could easily find qualified US students with two years of experience, skills by the way comparable to what the vast majorities of H1B's offer, but Americans who do not need the H1B would give a finger to any employer who would expect that an American would work 80h/week for 55K/year. The "brighest and the best" out there, a typical individual on the mid 30's with 10+ year of experience, masters degree and tons of sweating and bleeding in the IT world, I am not sure whether Bill Gates want to open the wallet and pay more than $100K. They would prefer to outsource the work to China - not even India anymore. That is the reason and the only reason only which explains why wages have not increased to IT programmers in the last few years.
Illegal aliens are being backed by major employers of cheap labor, such as Wall Mart and many others. Illegals also can put extra long hours and therefore they yield more output for less investiment. That's is the reason that US employers seem to fight so consistently to keep them here. Since illegal aliens are in higher numbers and can deliver more not offshoreable productivity than us, so that is the reason why they are the ones getting the red carpet.
At this moment our incluence is minimal, if not not pathetic. As a matter of fact, I am afraid that more our category of workers fight and protest, more the American people will be outraged and scared and will react calling *their* congressmen even harder in order to push us all out.
For the naive and dreamers out there who are shaking their heads after reading the above and believe that the above is propaganda, so just think about it.

I am wondering how we ended up here. We have been doing this campaign for so long, we have now hired a lobbying firm, and we've met, called, emailed and faxed so many senators etc. How come this bill completely ignored, and in fact in some senses, hurt us?
I have seen posts about lawmakers being stupid, out-of-touch etc but I think these posts are mostly facetious. I feel troubled by the fact that in spite of numerous efforts the lawmakers decided to ignore us - and if this was India I would have attributed this to the fact that in us they don't (yet) have a vote bank.
Please take this post in a positive way and as a stimulus for some soul searching - why did we end up in this situation?

It seems like the deeper we are in the process of GC the more time we spend tracking and speculating on the next week or the week after.
This week is going to be critical for the Notices because if we don't get them by 8/17 the following weeks are going to be even worse.
I'm tempted to call because of the time that has passed and becasue my checks also are dated 6/15.

Wait for labor (go through labor pain..:-) ), do not get/expect promotion, Oh ya get your well educated spouse, Make them sit at home, make them feel unproductive, pay all your taxes, pay your social security BUT do not expect anything back, In the process if your kids age out separate them from you (send them back), If you wish to study pay highest fees, if you get promoted stand in queue again, pay frequent medical fees, AP, EAD fees, and yes YOU can always TRACK RNs for them. You can whine, post your opinions, when we change policies on the fly and create more hardships even if you have stayed here for more than 6 years, you can call up our customer service, be imaginative and get to level 2 and still get yelled at, asked to wait for 90 days (std reply), etc, but you can always go to good forum like IV and instead of working on your cause, create confusion, DEMAND action, not contribute....etc.

You can whine, post your opinions, when we change policies on the fly and create more hardships even if you have stayed here for more than 6 years, you can call up our customer service, be imaginative and get to level 2 and still get yelled at, asked to wait for 90 days (std reply), etc, but you can always go to good forum like IV and instead of working on your cause, create confusion, DEMAND action, not contribute....etc.
