I don't think its much different from what is posted. Only one time contributions are being considered for this event.
I have a shared doc with StarSun and all known ones have been accounted for the above total.
Only one month left to achieve our funding goals.
It does look like there are only a few hundred (~200) willing to actively participate for the good of others. About 0.04 % of all EB2, EB3 filers.
One possible strategy.......
Dividing 50,000 into that, it will be great if you hardworking people, fighting for legal immigrants, can touch about $200-400 each,
while the rest watch from the sidelines and cheer for us :), and also debate & analyze spiritedly.....

8/19/2008(Monday) 7 AM: Got "Welcoming the new Permanent resident.." email, saying 485 was approved on 8/18/2008.
8/19/2008(Monday) 9 PM: Got "Card production Ordered" Email.

I think anytime 6 months before the expiry of your current H1B extension.
So if USCIS takes an year to process my extension, what are the impacts to me after the current H-1B expires? Would I have issues in traveling?

I am wondering none of these senators who responded as of now understand our request for adding the provision of recapturing unused visas. Please read below response from IOWA senator and not even one word about our request.

I guess I saw a mistake on the writing....
On July 13th, 2007, DoS provided a glimmer of hope to these aspiring legal immigrants, by announcing in their visa bulletin (http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin/bulletin_3258.html) that all Employment-based green card applicants and their dependents would be eligible to apply for their Green cards, during the month of July 2007
It is June 13th not July13th the first visa bulletin sent out by DoS.

Getting sick of this movement in dates.
Illegal guy in US makes more money & without any hassle.
Trying to stay legally hurts very much for the past 9 years.
Atleast they should allow to pre-file I-485 so that atleast guys like me (when we missed july 2007 race) can just file and complete the verification process in I-485.

dummgelauft porting is happening and you may be correct about non IT companies and big IT companies being unwilling to port.
I can recollect 7 people immediately of which 1 is a genuine EB2 , 1 was a genuine Eb3 (2003) and remaining 3 have done labor substitution in Eb3 , 2 in Eb2 with dates ranging from 2002-2004 during the July Fiasco. 2 Eb2 people already got their GC's.
The other 3 people now have at least 3 years exp from 2007 --> 2010. Making them eligible for Eb2 ( with a variety of education + work exp combinations).
Lucky people are the ones, who could manage to get labor substitution during June-July 2007, got EAD's within 6 months, had the flexibility these 3 years and are now capable of porting to Eb2.
In the end it boils down to how resourceful one is and adapts to the situation and able to make things better for themselves. Same goes for L1 -> EB1 route. Porting by a person who has a substitute labor of 2002 ( in July 2007) will also effect a genuine EB3 application from 2006, as they are moving ahead even in the Eb3 queue.
Porting is here to stay , the only hope for people is to combine efforts and try to follow up on the various proposals ( STEM Exemption, visa recapture, counting dependents in family quota, and provide relief to people by at least letting them file 485's without waiting for dates to become current )

(I had posted a similar note a couple of weeks ago. I apologize for doing so again, but I feel this needs to be said).
We legal immigrants need to make our voices heard because 99% of the US Citizens do not know our (sad) story. Here are some highlights (nothing new to the users of this site):
1. Most of us are highly educated.
2. .. work hard (because otherwise why would our employers sponsor us).
3. .. follow all the laws and pursue legal immigration.
4. .. are deeply invested in this country - so many of us own houses, mutual funds, etc. that are investments in the Economy.
5. .. contribute to the society in a variety of ways including: paying taxes, inventing so much of the new technologies (especially in the computer industry).
It wouldn't be too hard to get statistics on how much employment-based immigrants contribute to the economy - number of companies started by former immigrations, number of patents filed, US citizens employed by such companies, correlation of the growth of the Computer Industry with Employment based Immigration. I believe a very strong case can be made in our favor.
And all we ask for is a fair shot at permanent residence in this country. Not only do we not get that, the process is opaque and we have NO idea how long it may take for us to navigate each one of the many stages of this process. The process is completely unbounded and we have no way to planning our lives.
I bet if the US Citizens at large find out what we go through day-to-day they would be appalled. One way to do so is to peacefully protest in public - perhaps outside the USCIS offices. It is probably a dumb idea, but I wanted to bring it up - let us not sell our selves short, there are a lot of us and if we combine our voices it would be loud enough to get to the right ears. I am sure we will see action.

being anguished about the situation of not getting receipts and even worse - not being able to track or check status...I emailed the attorney and asked if he could check for encashed checks or if their firm is getting july 2nd receipts...
His response :
"We have just started getting receipts for some of the June applications we sent. I am surprised that July filers are already getting their receipts and somehow find it hard to beleive thats the case. Anyhow we have no updates on ur case."

Processing application based on Priority dates which is applicable to Any Employement (EB1, EB2, EB3) or Even family categories, with respect to Quota for that catagories..
Again as Somebody mentioned Earlier, its not going to get solved in 2-3 Months, So this will be helpful only from Futuristic purpose.
Its Vision problem, But this can't be solved by Lawsuites, It needs discussions, Negotiations and Communication, By Who have access to USCIS representative. In a Nutshell IV or AILA Kind of group, need to bring on their agenda, if they think its in Best interest for everybody.
Simply put i am used to standing in queue to Buy Coffe, and somebody gets priority I feel i've been bypassed.
Agree with you completely... and I would like to add one more point is this unnecessary classification of EB-1, EB-2 and EB-3... we are all highly skilled among our respective fields.. and I don't think this classification does any justice... but I very well know this wont be solved in 2-3 days... so no use talking abt it.. i guess
