Is there premium for I485?
I am not a lawyer but as far as I know there is no Premium for 485. They mentioned they will want to do it at some point in the future but it is not yet available for this application.

The derivative files using primary's PD. read all posts in this thread, the I485 form and INA. it is clearly in the law.
This thread is discussing about quota. not PD.
In essence none will be affected ( ofcourse EBdependents and existing FB2A may get delayed slightly , that is ok)
I think the FB2A category has a cutoff date of 08OCT04 according to the current bulletin.

Hi,
I 485 reached Nebraska on 3rd July, received by F.Heinauer 11.14 AM. I140 approved by Nebraska. Checks encashed today by Nebraska. I think, atlast, they started digging the 2nd and 3rd july filers applications. Hang on guys we should be getting the reciepts soon.

Aren't H4 spouses considered as Immigrants ?
:) sure you are otherwise you wouldn't be living here.
I am not againist H4 guys but i can't help but laugh when H4 guys complain that they were being treated bad by not allowing them to work.
One has to understand that US allows ppl on a certain basis and H4 is nothing but to join your spouse (or something like that for kids).
One can request them to make a provision for H4 ppl to work but blaming that they haven't done that simply by fogetting on what basis they entered US.... hmmm i don't know.
Questioning their speed of process and other irregular rules... yes i am with you but blaming them for above ... i don't think that is fair.

Instructions on how to import all the contacts into yahoo address book.
1. Download the file and save it to desktop.
2. Click the options on the left when you logon to yahoo mail.
3. Then click the address book to the right.
4. Under management, click Import/Export.

First of all, ask yourself the following points before continue reading.
1. Do I need a Green card at ANY cost ( Any cost = Waiting for yrs, Not willing to risk any other options, afraid to raise issues, not pinpointing flaws )
2. Willing to fight for justice.
If you chose the option 1, please stop reading further and good luck.
For the option 2, here we go.I am new to this web site and it seems there are approx 70k people here and lot more outside. Huge enough to create miracles.
Just to remind ourself who we are. We are Highly skilled LEGAL immigrants. It not only means we are skillful but it also means we pay every damn tax which is out there. We pay for welfare. We pay for unemployed. We pay for pensioners. List goes on. We pay fees for every application processed by USCIS ( Labor, I-140,I-485,I-765,I-131 etc etc ). We pay rent. We buy cars. We buy houses. In short, we are nothing but GOLD to this economy.
However, this one department called USCIS is literally toying with us for yrs now as if we are slaves or we are obligated to them. We dont want anyone to do us any favour. We need justice.
Friends - I have self respect and i wasn't born chanting Green Card. I AM going to face them, confront them, demand them to provide justice, if not I want them to REFUND every penny i have paid so far. If this "I AM" becomes "WE", half the battle won. TOGETHER WE STAND, VICTORY/JUSTICE FOR ALL. If you are still hesitant, you made a bad choice of choosing option 2. Please go back to option 1.

While your story is interesting, but I beg to differ again, because, immigration is not something which would be discussed in the Congress for the first time, if we are successfull in bringing something. Each and every single lawmaker in this country understand immigration to the extent that you may not even start to guess...People who oppose us have been putting their restrictive bills again and again so they are going to continue doing that despite of us do something or sleep, do you think Numbersusa wait for us to do something, their anti.... mill will keep churning.
Sometimes you have to see the other perspective rather than just defending a point of view.
Now is not a good time for immigrants. The EB5 investor visa, which is a no brainer in this economy has been kicked on like a can for 6 mths at a time, congressmen that are pro- immigration are laying low. Anti-immigrant forces are gearing up for a big assault in coming weeks, the American public is unsympathetic given their own issues. Against this backdrop why would we launch such an effort. Basically now is the time to play Defense not Offense. Do all you can to hang on to your job, keep your savings liquid. Wait for any opportunities to arise, and wait for the storm to pass.
After the great depression, this country virtually shut down immigration for the next few decades. Likewise they slowed it down in the early 80s and again in the early 90s. Right about now, no change is a good thing IMHO, as bad as that sounds, as change will not be in your favor.

We cannot reject numbersusa and other organizartion's ideas. As our people are suffering in retrogession some of their people and their families are impacted because of job loss in past. So we cannot tell that they do not have crediblity. They have some valid points also though some of them are absurd. But we need to understand them and try to elimimate their fears also.

I think the major bone of contention among the legislators is what to do about the illegal immigrants currently in the country. Amnesty OR no amnsesty is the major debate. Other than that both are in a common frame of mind (in some way) one way or the other regarding - border enforcement, legal immigration, retrogression relief. Now, it looks like there is a common agreement that the skillful legal immigration issue has to be separated from the illgegal immigration related Amnesty OR no Amnesty debate. Its amazing how this community reacts to these set backs. For last few months I have been consistently seeing people with EB-3 complaining and pleading to the community to come together and join hands to eliminate the country cap. But most of the words fell of dumb ears. Most of the EB-2 members did read the pleads and requests, but did not bother to take and concrete actions or even comment on it.
Now that the EB-2 is regrogressed to 2000, suddenly all the EB-2 members jump in. What happened, friends?
This is plain selfishness - on the part for few lil stratured people. They should be ashamed of themselves or even to comment on these forums and come up with ideas.
The point is not to divide the community, but to emphasize on unity! Though we belong to different EB categories, we need to work together and realize the pain of the community as a whole instead of taking it individually.
Well my hopes are pretty low from this community, infact hopeless. But I did take the pain to create the dummy username to point this bigotry of some of our useless members, who are among us.
Please don't care for our betterment - we have and would manage without the help of you BS people.
